What happens to those with the big hearts? What happens to those who do their best to stand by people and to give people a fair chance? What happens to those who always feel obligated to other people? Who always seem to do the right thing by people? Do they get a pat on the back? Do they get a hug or even a freaking smile their way? Or do they get passed by? Shit on and just tossed to the side?
Does any of it even matter? At the end of the day, does any of it matter? People are fickle and are controlled by their feelings — and feelings are ridiculously flighty….so where does this leave all of us? As just leaves on the river, being pushed along by the wind, with no actual real direction. And if we are all just floating and rushing along, then how can we expect anything more than the very least that people have to offer? Right? It is not their fault for their flaws, issues, and insecurities, right? They are just floating along and operating on whatever it is that they have at that very moment. How can we fault people for their limitations when that may just be the best they can offer? How?
Sure, their limitations hurt and their flaws and insecurities hurt, but what more can you ask for? Maybe it is that those with the big hearts and the obligations who should just stop expecting so much — it may just be too much to expect.
And maybe, just maybe, if you expect the very least from people — then maybe you can be pleasantly surprised when you meet someone who actually is straight with their words and actually keeps to their word. Nothing better than a pleasant surprise, right? LOL
